Terms of Service
Updated May 12, 20261. Who we are
Syllabi (the “Service”) is jointly operated by Gianmarco Paglierani and Filippo Aglietti as natural persons (“we”, “us”, “our”). A postal address for the Operators is provided to consumers, regulators, and other persons with a legitimate interest on written request to hello@syllabi.online. Please include “Legal notice” in the subject line so we can route it correctly. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Syllabi at www.syllabi.online. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
2. The Service
Syllabi is a software-as-a-service tool that uses AI to generate course outlines, modules, lessons, quizzes, and pacing schedules from your inputs. We let you edit, export, and (on certain plans) share what is generated. Specific features depend on your plan — see pricing and the in-app feature matrix.
We may add, remove, or change features over time. We will not materially reduce the features included in a plan you are currently paying for during your billing period without giving you reasonable notice and the option to cancel.
3. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 16 years old (or the digital age of consent in your country) to use the Service. You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@syllabi.online if you suspect unauthorized access.
One account per person. You may not transfer your account to anyone else.
4. Plans, billing, and renewal
Paid plans are sold on a monthly or annual subscription basis. One-time packs (e.g. the 5-Pack) are sold as one-off purchases with a fixed credit window. Prices, generation limits, and feature inclusions are shown on the pricing page and are part of these Terms by reference.
- • Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period for the same plan and term, charged to your saved payment method, until you cancel.
- • Cancellation: you can cancel at any time from the “Manage subscription” button in your profile, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; you keep access until then.
- • Failed payments: if a renewal payment fails, we will retry and notify you. If we cannot collect payment, paid features will be paused until the issue is resolved.
- • Price changes: we may change prices for future renewal periods. We will notify you by email at least 30 days before a price change takes effect; if you don't agree, you can cancel before the change.
- • Taxes: prices shown are exclusive of VAT or other applicable taxes unless explicitly stated. Where required, VAT is collected at checkout.
- • Payment processing: all payments are processed by Stripe Payments Europe Ltd. We do not see or store your full card number.
5. EU consumer right of withdrawal & refunds
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area, EU Directive 2011/83/EU normally gives you 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services.
Immediate digital service. Because Syllabi is a digital service that begins immediately after purchase (we provision your generation allowance and grant access to paid features the moment you pay), refunds and withdrawal rights for paid digital services may be limited once you start using paid features or consume generation credits. We will apply any non-waivable consumer rights that apply to you under EU or local law.
Refund policy. Past subscription periods are non-refundable. As a courtesy, if (a) you cancel within 24 hours of your first subscription charge AND (b) you have not used any generations during that period, contact hello@syllabi.online and we will issue a full refund. This courtesy is in addition to any non-waivable statutory rights you have as a consumer.
One-time packs (e.g. 5-Pack) are refundable if untouched within 14 days of purchase. Once any generation from the pack has been used, the pack is considered consumed and is not refundable.
6. Your content; AI-generated output; ownership
Your inputs. You keep all rights in the prompts, topics, and any other content you submit to the Service (“Inputs”). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, and process Inputs solely as necessary to provide the Service to you (including sending them to our AI sub-processor to generate output, storing them for your future retrieval, and processing them through our export pipeline). This license ends when you delete the content or your account.
Generated output.Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we assign to you all rights we may have in the curricula, modules, lessons, quizzes, and other content the Service generates from your Inputs (“Output”). You can use Output for any lawful purpose, including commercial use — that is the point of the product. You are responsible for verifying the accuracy and suitability of Output before publishing or relying on it.
Our IP. The Syllabi name, logo, website, software, and underlying templates remain our property. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of the Service itself to you.
We do not train on you.We do not use your Inputs or Output to train AI models. Anthropic states that API inputs and outputs are not used to train models by default; processing remains subject to Anthropic's current API data usage and retention terms.
7. AI output disclaimer
The Service uses large language models that produce probabilistic output. Generated curricula, facts, references, quiz answers, and any external resources suggested by the AI may be inaccurate, outdated, or fabricated. You must independently verify any factual claim before relying on it, especially in regulated or safety-critical domains (e.g., medical, legal, financial, engineering). Syllabi is a productivity tool, not a source of authoritative information.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- • Use the Service to generate content that is illegal, defamatory, harassing, hateful, sexually explicit involving minors, or that infringes third-party rights.
- • Attempt to extract, reverse-engineer, or republish underlying models, system prompts, or proprietary templates.
- • Resell, sublicense, or operate the Service as a hosted product for third parties without our written permission.
- • Bypass usage limits, share login credentials, or use multiple free accounts to evade paid quotas.
- • Submit content you don't have the right to submit, or use Output in a way that would breach a third party's rights.
- • Interfere with the Service, attempt unauthorized access, probe for vulnerabilities without prior written consent, or upload malicious code.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules. Where appropriate we will warn you first; in cases of clear or repeated breach, or where required by law, we may act immediately.
9. Service availability
We aim to keep Syllabi available and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted service. We may schedule maintenance, deploy fixes, or experience outages at our hosting providers or AI sub-processor. We are not liable for downtime caused by third-party providers, but if a paid plan experiences a material extended outage we will, on request, extend your billing period proportionally.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. This does not exclude warranties that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or in connection with the Service in any 12-month period will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us for the Service in that 12-month period and (b) €100.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of business opportunity, or loss of data (beyond the cost of reconstituting deleted data from your own copies). Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death, personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Consumer rights. If you are a consumer, none of the limitations in this section override mandatory protections under your local consumer law.
12. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time from your profile. We can suspend or terminate your account if you materially breach these Terms, or if we are required to by law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, disclaimers, liability, governing law) survive.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms occasionally. For material changes (anything that affects your rights, fees, or core features) we will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance. If you don't agree, you can cancel before the new Terms apply.
14. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Italian courts of the Operators' place of business, except that consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence under mandatory consumer-protection rules.
EU consumers can also access the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
